I’m a swatcher!
I haven’t been posting because although I’ve been knitting and crocheting, my digital camera stopped working. I’ve been taking gallery pictures with a disposible one but I haven’t taken that to get processed yet. I got a NICE (Sony Cybershot DSCW70) replacement but my husband has it with him on a business trip.
Anyway, here’s what I was able to shoot before he left. Forgive the blurryness, I still haven’t read the instruction book on how to use the macro setting.
I’m a swatcher. I hate making something and having it not come out the way I intended so while I find swatching tedious, I also find it absolutely necessary.
The first one is half double crochet in the round with Patons Bumblebee Baby Cotton in Waterlily (the wrong side). I believe it’s discontinued, which is too bad since it’s not a bad yarn. Although, it would’ve been nice if they’d had brighter colors in the palette instead of just patels.
The second swatch from the top is knit ribbing also with Patons Bumblebee. I’m making baby hats with a half double crochet crown and knit ribbing at the edge. My deadline for these is coming up (September 15th) so I’m making these this week.
The last one is Pachuko Organic Cotton. This one is necessary to finish the Organic Cotton Sweater. Pure laziness is what’s keeping me from this sweater. This swatch was knit at least 3 months ago and because I kept forgetting to wash it I couldn’t work on this sweater. I’m knitting a folded over stockinette stitch button band to match the hems on the bottom and sleeves. I hope to be finished with this soon but I still have no idea what I’m going to do about the hood. This a little embarassing because we’re almost into the next Holiday season and this was supposed to be gift for LAST YEAR. Luckily, I started big so it should still fit.

[...] I’ve been crocheting as I work on the 2 Baby Hats which were ordered back in September. Luckily my cousin had ordered them and knew the trials and tribulations of the Sonata Project so it’s not a big deal that I’m finishing them now. One of them is finished and the other one has about 85% to go. [...]
