Raspberry- Knit Baby Blanket Pattern
Once I was done with the Galaxy Afghan, I realized that I still had not made something for the new baby that was arriving. I decided on this knit baby blanket pattern from Pipsqueaksby Kim Hargreaves called Peaches.
The yarn called for in the pattern was cotton but I decided to make the yarn wool. As a wool blanket, it would be perfect for ECing. A wool blanket protects your mattress or clothing from liquids while inhibiting the growth of bacteria. I decided on Peruvian Highland wool and made the blanket colors 2010 Raspberry, 5420 Seashell Pink, 1255 Irish Moss, 2132 Mocha Cream, and 3075 Antique Blue.
The Raspberry color attracted me the most so I decided to swatch with that. I completely fell in love with this color and decided from then on to call the blanket Raspberry.
Instead of finishing off with the blue like the pattern calls for, I’ve decided that I will finish off with Raspberry again. I adjusted the pattern based on my swatch gauge (30 rows= 4â€, 22 sts= 4†with US 6 needles) so that the blanket will measure approximately 21 x 28 inches. I want a tight knit so that the blanket will absorb more liquid.
